In mid-January, 2018, Eilat Mayor Yitzhak Halevi met with the fellows of the Mandel Program for Local Leadership in Eilat-Eilot and presented his views on the common ground shared by the city of Eilat and the Eilot region, the collaborations that have developed between the leadership of the two authorities, and the Eilat municipality’s strategic plan for the coming years.
Equipped with his insights and visions, the program's fellows are developing creative ideas about the issues facing the local leadership of the region, and are approaching these issues through additional perspectives that encourage consideration of more questions and issues related to the region’s future.
The close ties between the Mandel Center for Leadership in the Negev withand the mayor of Eilat and the head of the Eilot regional council facilitate in-depth discourse that serves as the basis for leading significant change in the region that improves quality of life, and enable planning of future learning and action.
