Professor Avi Kaplan is Professor of Educational Psychology at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. Previously, Avi was a faculty member in the Department of Education at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he was Chair of School Counseling. Avi's research focuses on motivation and identity, environmental effects on motivation and identity formation, and interventions that promote people's active and informed role in their own identity formation and motivation. Avi is a Fellow of the Association of Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association, is the Vice President of the Division of Educational Psychology (Division 15) of the American Psychological Association, and is the former editor of The Journal of Experimental Education.
